Rocky Point is the name or nickname that was given to Puerto Peñasco. A Tourist Destination in northwestern Mexico in the state of Sonora. Rocky Point was named by a visitor, who was a retired lieutenant of the Royal Navy of Britain in the late nineteenth century. Lieutenant William Hale Hardy arrived in Puerto Peñasco in search of precious metals and found a beautiful place in the dunes overlooking the Sea of Cortez.
