Easter, is sort of like Christmas and one the most important festivities of the Christian liturgical year. According to the Gospels, Jesus rose on the third day after his crucifixion. His Resurrection is celebrated during Passover or Easter Sunday also known as Resurrection Day or Resurrection Sunday. The week before this Easter weekend is also known as Holy Week, in which mainly takes place the first holiday of the school calendar and in some organizations Thursday thru Sunday as well.
Holy week is a holiday that is ever changing year after year. The dates of this Holy Christian Week are calculated according to the Gregorian calendar and the dates can vary between April 4th and May 8th.
In México is common for people to take advantage of these days for a family trip. Since, during this time it concurs with the beginning of spring, beach destinations regularly receive a large number of visitors during these dates.
