The 2nd Annual Balloon Festival will be held February 23rd – 25th at Isla Del Mar (formally Laguna Del Mar). The event is open to everyone. This is a great photo opportunity not only due to the beautiful colored and special shaped balloons but the setting as well. Last year proved to be a huge success for the event with nearly a dozen balloons flying above the Sea of Cortez and the Sonoran Desert.
On February 23rd and 24th the balloon ascensions begin at 7:00 am. At 2:00 pm is the opening with a family Pic Nic . Throughout the event there will be a kids area as well as food and beverages. The music starts at 5:00 pm with the band ‘Something Like Seduction’ and this is followed by the Balloon exhibition and Light Show (Balloon Glow) at 7:00 pm. The music and kids area with continue along with food and beverages at 8:00 pm
February the 25th the balloons will again begin the ascension at 7:00 am.
Buy your tickets early and save. They can be purchased at Puerto Viejo Coffee located in the Malecon on the corner across from the Catholic Church and just a few doors from The Blue Marlin. The admission to get in is:

El Tapeo will once again be hosting the 3rd Annual Wine and Craft Beer Festival on October 7th at El Tapeo. Doors will open at 7:00 with the tasting starting at 7:30 p.m. and music starting at 8:30 p.m. The cost for the event is $200 pesos and seating will be limited. There will be 10 tables only with seating of 10 people per table. Make your reservation today. There will be food for purchase, as of this writing, it has not been determined what the menu will be. El Tapeo is located in the Laos Mar Hotel on Sandy Beach and across from Playa Bonita.
All of the wines and beers featured come from the Valle de Guadalupe with craft beer coming from Ensenada, Tijuana and Mexicali. Mundano, Kruger, Alxemiaand Terra Turcott are just a few of the wineries who will be participating as well as 2/14 brewery. All of these wineries have done wine dinners and tasting before at El Tapeo and you will not be disappointed in any of them. Come down and enjoy our beautiful fall weather in Puerto Peñasco, while enjoying fine wines and friendship, great music and so much more. What a better place to sip wine than looking at the Sea Of Cortez.
