Upcoming Events in Puerto Peñasco
January is starting off with so many events taking place in Puerto Peñasco. The weekend of January 14th starts of with Roger Clyne and the Peacemakers January Jam. This high energy concert will have you on your toes tapping to the great music. Check out for this next Rocky Point Events.
The 2nd Mermaid Market of 2022 kicks off on Saturday the 15th from 10 am to 3 pm. Here you can find quality art and crafts from many of the local artists as well as great BBQ from the Rocky Point BBQ House, delicious tamales and fresh baked bread, pies and cakes. If you get thirsty, you can get a ice cold beer or one of the margarita concoctions served up by Russ Black.
Also on January 15th, a fun event to attend is the 28th Annual Chili Cook-off at Playa del Oro. This is a CASI sanctioned function and admission is $5. Here you will find contestants from all over the country and you can sample some of the best chili around. There will also be great raffle prizes and entertainment for all.
Take a drive out to Encantame Towers and dine at the award winning restaurant from Guadalajara called Santo Coyote. Some of the best chefs and mixologists from their main restaurant in Guadalajara now call Puerto Peñasco home. It is getting rave reviews from those who have taken the drive. This is truly gourmet dining at its finest.
Looking for entertainment close to town, check out Manny’s Beach Club where Jim Dalton will be entertaining the crowd. Great music, food and drinks right on the beach.
The Cholla Bay “Old Boys Social Club” is hosting their 2022 Winterfest, also on the 15th. There will be great food as well as contests such as the ugly sweater contest and so much more. Join the locals in Cholla Bay as they know how to have a great time.
If you love baseball, check out the Baseball Clinic for the youth of Puerto Peñasco on the 29th from 8:30 am to 12:30 at the baseball stadium on Benito Juarez. There will be practices for children of all ages and it is really fun to see the kids learning the game as well as sportsmanship from all the professional ball players who volunteer to come here to teach.
Finishing up January, will be the Gran Concierto at the Convention and Visitors Center with the group Tropicalisimo Apache. This group provides some great music for your entertainment. If you have never been to concert in Mexico, this is one you should not miss.
Our daytime weather is great, but if you are attending an outdoor event at night, bring a jacket or warm sweater as it cools off pretty quickly when the sun goes down.
Come out and join the fun while enjoying the beautiful weather in Puerto Peñasco and the stunning Sea of Cortez views. Remember Rocky Point is only a 4 hour drive from Phoenix or Tucson.
