Rocky Point Covid Updates

Last update: September 2022. It’s been a tough couple of years for all of us around the globe. From quarantine to uncertainty about when vaccines would arrive, we’ve all had our fair share of stress and heartache. As citizens and non-citizens of the US travel to and fro Rocky Point, it’s important to stay up-to-date on all the recent Rocky Point Covid Updates. Below we explore the eased travel restrictions and the updates to commercial business measures.

Eased Travel Restrictions

On Monday, November 8th, 2021, certain travel restrictions that were originally in place on the US-Mexico border were lifted. Now fully-vaccinated non-U.S. citizens can enter the US for non-essential reasons. They can do so through a ferry terminal or a land border. The only requirement is that the noncitizen is fully vaccinated and can show proof of COVID-19 vaccination.

This all comes as such good news after 19 long months of travel restrictions. Now, businesses that rely on cross-border commerce and families that have been separated for far too long can once again be whole. It is such great news to hear, especially being so near to the holiday times when being around family is unparalleled.

It’s important to keep in mind that unvaccinated travelers are still able to cross the border for essential travel.

Updated Commercial Business Measures

On Saturday, October 30th, 2021, the Municipal Health and Safety Board in Puerto Peñasco updated 3 different measures as they related to business operations.

First, businesses will no longer have to operate within a window of certain hours. They can go back to their regular hours, or change their hours of operation to whatever they wish. (It’s important to keep an eye out for the State Alcohol Board hour restrictions if your business must comply with their regulations as well.) Second, all restaurants are now able to operate at maximum capacity. They are able to do so as long as they continue to comply with face masks indoors when guests aren’t eating or drinking, and social distancing outdoors. Face masks are no longer required but it is suggested they be worn. All workers in the food and beverage industry must wear face masks.

Rocky Point Covid Updates

Taking into consideration all that has been happening over the past year and a half or so of this pandemic, we are pleased to hear about the new changes taking place in our local communities. Though things don’t all look completely how they used to be, we are one step closer to enjoying similar freedom as we had before. Our normal might look different, but at least we are all safe and all together.
