Soon the weather will start warming up in Puerto Peñasco and March has so many things going on in it in. We ave something for everyone to do We are hoping that our whales here as so many people are coming down for Spring Break and want to see them. Spring Break and Semana Santa (Easter Holy Week) are very busy times, so be patient with the traffic. But on the good news side, we have so many family oriented things going on, that you won’t get bored.

A real crowd please is 2020 Carnival which runs from February 29 – March 1st. There is a huge parade every afternoon starting at around 4 p.m. This year it will start at the Baseball Stadium heading south on Benito Juarez , then turning West on Calle 13 and culminating next to the Penasco Del Sol Hotel. Every evening there will be a carnival set up with lots of music food and drinks. The event is free to the public. This is really a fun filled weekend.
Next is the start of ASU Spring Break on the 6th of March. It is also the weekend of Manny’s Country Bash. This runs from March 6th- 8th and you will hear some great country music at Manny’s Beach Club in the Mirador area of Puerto Peñasco. Tickets are going fast so if you are interested get them ASAP.
March 7th and 21st will be the monthly Mermaid Markets.

The Cholla Bay Sportsman Club is one again doing it’s Annual Corn hole and Horseshoe Tournament on March 21. There is still time to put a team together and register. It is a huge event and this year Barb’s Dog Rescue will receive some of the money. These people in Cholla Bay know how to have a great time. If you like corn hole, horseshoes and beer, then this is an event for your. See the above flyers for details.

April 4th is a huge day as we have 3 events going on. This is the last Mermaid Market for the season and it is fun filled day complete with music, food and drinks. The Mermaid Market is located in Shrimp Park and features arts and crafts from local artisans such as custom jewelry, hand designed and made apparel, delightful custom greeting cards, custom designed Wine Bottle Lights adorned with shells from the Sea of Cortez, photography, crochets baby blankets and booties as well as beautiful shawls , Mermaid Margaritas, beer and wine as well as BBQ from the BBQ House and more. Shop and stock up on these one of a kinds gifts. Hours are 10 -3 pm.

The Annual Charanga Derby will going on on the 4th of April as well. This event is a fund raiser for Casa Hogar, the home for the elderly as it is their annual fund raiser. It has gained a lot of local following as the cars race down the hill coming from Manny’s. If you wonder what it is, it is the Mexican version of a Soap Box Derby, with all the cars made from everything from wheel borrows to wagons. It is really a family event as you cheer on your team. Last is a Corn Hole Tournament at Manny’s Beach Club.
Last event is the Mark Mulligan Concert at Manny’s on April 25th. Get your tickets in advance to be assured of a good seat.
As you can see, we never get bored living or visiting Puerto Peñasco. Come down and stay for a weekend and turn it into a lifetime of peace and tranquility while sitting and watching the water go by.
