Let me introduce you to Barb’s Dog Rescue, if you don’t already know her. Barb has been doing this for nearly 18 years and has rescued and adopted out 1,000 dogs every year for the past several years and growing. She gives of herself 100% everyday to these discarded little souls. The rescue center is located just north of Puerto Peñasco, look for the big yellow signs. You can donate dog food that you can purchase here and it is the Kirkland Chicken as well as Kirkland Puppy Chow. About the same price as buying it at COSTCO and then having to haul it down.
As a community, we are helping her to raise funds to keep up with all the hungry little mouths. These dogs come from all over the city and in some cases communities from outside the city. People drop off puppies at the gate or drop off the pregnant mom. Sometimes animal control calls and out she goes to get them rescued. In winter Rocky Point is full of generous visitors, but in summer many of the visitors go for cooler weather. Unfortunately, the hungry mouths are still here.
There are so many success stories of puppies as well as older dogs being adopted. Every Veteran’s Day weekend we have our annual Bike Rally Festival and this year will be number 18. These bikers and volunteers not only donate but many also adopt. One such adoption came from of the crew that registers people for the “biggest rally this side of the border”. Below are just a couple of the adopted puppies with their forever owners. As you can see both puppies and older dogs are being adopted out. Adopt.. don’t buy. Barb charges nothing to adopt and the puppies are current on all shots and are either spayed or neutered and you will have all the paperwork to take them home. All she asks is for a donation of food.

If you get the bid, we will get you the item and if you are out of the city, they can be shipped or pick them up when you come to visit this wonderful sea side town. We will find a way.
