When you live in Puerto Peñasco, people always ask “what do you do there all the time”? There is never a dull moment and if you are just visiting or live here and you get bored, than perhaps this is not the place to be. Most of the bars in the area have great entertainment almost every weekend so plan to check out one of the hot spots. You can also walk around the Shrimp boats and take pictures or just enjoy Rocky Point Sunsets from the balcony of your condo or beach front home. The town is pretty laid back except on busy holiday weekends such as Easter, Memorial Day, Labor Day and Thanksgiving.

One thing about a community of ex pats is that for the most part everyone is charity minded. We hold fund raisers for our friends who may have cancer or other things that change their life forever. One such find raiser is being held at Latitude 31 for Erika Reyna Castro. Ericka is a young woman who along with her husband have run the dive shop at the Sonoran SEA. They have two small children to take care of beside running the business. Now she has been diagnosed with Stage 4 inoperable breast cancer. So on October 28th, there will be a fund raiser to help defray some of the costs of the chemo and travel. They will be selling raffle tickets for this event with some really great prizes and you need not be present to win. This event coincides with Latitude 31’s Annual Halloween Costume Party which starts at 5 p.m. Check out the flyer below for all the details, but there are some FANTASTIC prizes.
The end of October looks to be an exciting fun filled month. There are Halloween parties at Wrecked at the Reef starting at 9:30 p.m. Southside Jillz will again be hosting her Halloween bash and if you haven’t been there, do plan to attend, costumes are optional and she does know how to throw a party. There will be other Halloween parties, so drive responsibly as the little ones will be out tricker treating and are sometimes very hard to see.
Out in Cholla Bay, on the weekend of October 28th will be the Annual Cholla Bay Santa Claus Club Corn Hole Tournament. The Santa Claus Club raises money for the under privileged children in Rocky Point and has been headed up by John Fowler since it started. Check out the flyer and hurry to sign up today.
