PEMEX is the sole supplier of all commercial gasoline (petrol/diesel) stations in Mexico. All gas stations in Mexico are full-service gas stations. You have to wait for an attendant to be opened to help you.
There are different types of gasoline grade levels. The PEMEX gasoline grades are:
Magna - which is considered Regular Unleaded 87 Octane in the US - green pump handle
Premium - which is considered 92 Octane - red pump handle
The gasoline is filled in liters and the pumps take pesos or US dollars but the gas is charged in pesos.
For those that need numbers, here is a quick guide to understand liter to gallon conversion and an idea of the price you will be paying in Mexico per gallon.
One US gallon is equal to 3.785 liters. You will pay approximately $2.34 USD per US gallon. Each liter will then be about 7 pesos. Diesel will be cheaper approximately 6 pesos per liter.
Most PEMEX stations in Rocky Point have Circle Ks convenience stores in it. This is very handy if you need to buy any last minute item.
