What the Consulate CAN DO if you are arrested in Mexico
-Visit you in jail after your arrest
-Provide you a list of local attorneys
-Inform you of judicial procedures
-Notify family and friends
-Relay requests for aid or monetary support
-Protest abuse or mistreatment to authorities
What the Consulate CANNOT DO if you are arrested in Mexico
-Demand your immeadiate release
-Get you out of jail or out of the country
-Pay legal fees with U.S. Government money
-Pay fines with U.S. Government money
