I am new to the board, but not new to Rocky Point. I have been there about four times, but they have been in April or October. This summer, three buddies and I are spending our 30th Birthday Extravaganza there. It is a time when we are all celebrating our monumental 30th birthday there. I have a few questions that go with this momentous ocassion.

1. How hot does it really get? I want to know the hottest (including the sand). We are looking at the third week of June.
2. Are there any special events going on during this time?

I've been in May and July, not June.
May (Cinco de mayo) was pretty toasty, with a touch more humidity than the Valley. Sand and water were fine as there was a breeze all day.
Mid-July it was fairly steamy, although not as bad as in August.
Water and sand weren't bad though.
Temps probably were in the low 100's both times. It's usually cooler than the Valley yet more humid. If the wind stops, it's not very comfortable.

I go to Puerto Peņasco every month of the year. I would call it a sub-tropical maritime environment. The ocean tempers and humidifies the climate to a certain extent. I live in Laughlin, NV, where the summertime temperatures soar, and Rocky point is a nice pleasant, relaxing break for me. In June I've seen it 104 - 106 F. at the hottest. The humidity makes it a little uncomfortable sometimes, but that's why we have air conditioning and going in the ocean makes it all better.
The only problem I've ever seen in June was high winds blowing sand around. The fishing is lousy and uncomfortable if not dangerous then, and there's very little activity on the streets. My wants are few, and I can always find something to keep me occupied and happy.

ADDENDUM: The thermometer on my Ford Explorer said 123 once when I was art El Gulfo in June. I tuned right around and went back to Laughlin.
